ESAB Introduces New Cutting Packages 

 

ESAB has launched two new models in its PowerCut™ line of Plasmarc™ cutting packages, designed to pack big cutting power into a portable package. The new PowerCut 1600 and 1300 make cutting easier and more economical with design features to simplify operation, reduce set-up time and enhance consumable life.

 

PowerCut 1300 and 1600 offer the highest speeds and thickness capabilities in their class, plus high duty cycles for outstanding productivity and performance. New features include a Quick Disconnect Torch that disconnects from the machine without wrenches or special tools; a new easy-to-read Digital Readout Display and Blow Back Technology to eliminate high frequency startups. ESAB Technology Helps Prevent Regulator Blow Outs
Oxygen regulator fires fortunately do not occur frequently in the welding industry, but when they happen, the damage to property and personnel can be devastating. Regulator burnout can happen to the most experienced welder if proper safety practices are not followed. An operator in a hurry, a safety step overlooked, can lead to an accident. Because the causes of regulator burnout are not always clear, it may be impossible to completely eliminate this safety hazard, but fortunately, the damage and potential injury can be contained, thanks to a patented regulator design available only from ESAB Welding and Cutting Products.

 

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has added a new flux plant to its filler metal manufacturing facility in Hanover, Pennsylvania, providing the company with a significant upgrade in manufacturing capacity. The facility will enable ESAB to improve management of its flux product line and maintain better control of inventory and delivery, as well as control costs, particularly freight costs. The new plant incorporates the latest technology, including lean manufacturing, and will produce a broad range of products for a variety of market segments including shipbuilding, wind towers, structural steel construction and general fabrication.
